ASE vendor searches

By default,Kofax AP Agility uses the ASE search method and no external services are required. ASE searches are executed alongside extraction when an internal representation of the data is loaded into memory. Subsequent references use the data in memory, improving performance.

In some cases, if the data in memory is busy, a second set of data can be created using the index files that were last released with the Transformation Designer project. Because of this, Kofax recommends that your Transformation Designer project is released regularly to ensure that it is references the most up-to-date ASE databases.

The ASE search method works fine if your vendor master data is small or medium-sized. You can still use the ASE search method is your vendor master data set is large, but the search efficiency decreases as your vendor master data size increases.

Because of this, Kofax recommends that you use the Kofax Search and Matching Server when your master data set exceeds 100 000 records.
