Scanning settings in AutoStore

In AutoStore Designer, use the Scanning Settings window to select which scan settings can be changed by users at the device. See the AutoStore section of the help for instructions.

The Scan Settings screen has the following settings. An asterisk (*) indicates the default setting.

File Type PDF*
Compact PDF Changes Color from Black to Grayscale. On some devices, resolutions higher than 300x300 dpi are changed back to 300x300 dpi.
TIFF
JPEG Changes Color from Black to Grayscale. Page Setting cannot be Multi Page. The Page Separation's SeparationNumber is set to 1 and cannot be changed.
XPS Not supported by Unified Client for Konica Minolta. Switches to PDF automatically if selected, but on IT5 devices, you need to switch to PDF or another format manually to avoid scan errors.

  • Binding Position is set to Left Bind or Top Bind.

  • Book Original is set to On, with Book Original Type set to Book Spread, Separation, Front Cover or Front & Back Covers.

  • Mixed Original is set to Same Width or Different Width.

  • Frame Erase is set to On, with Frame Erase Type set to Frame or Separation.

  • Scan Resolution is set to 600x600 dpi.

  • Simplex/Duplex is set to 2-Sided or Cover + 2-Sided.

On Changes the following scan settings:

  • Mixed Original from Same Width or Different Width to Off.

  • Z-Folded Original from On to Off.

  • Blank Page Removal from On to Off.

  • Binding Position from Left Bind or Top Bind to Off.

  • Book Original Type from Book Spread, Separation, Front Cover or Front & Back Covers to Book Original Off.

  • Frame Erase Type from Frame or Separation to Frame Erase Off.

  • Scan Resolution from 600x600 dpi to 300x300 dpi.

  • Simplex/Duplex from 2-Sided or Cover + 2-Sided to 1-Sided.

Book Original Off* Changed from On to Off if the following scan settings are used:

  • Binding Position is set to Left Bind or Top Bind.

  • Long Original is set to On.

If Book Original is set to Off, then:

  • Book Original Type cannot be selected.

  • Frame Erase is set to Off and cannot change.

On If Book Original is set to On, then the following scan settings can be changed:

  • Binding Positions from Left Bind or Top Bind to Auto.

  • Binding Positions from Left Bind or Top Bind to Auto.

  • Book Original Type can be changed.

  • Long Original from On to Off.

  • Scan Size from Auto to A3 Short edge feed.

  • Frame Erase can be changed.

Book Original Type Book Spread Book Original Type can be changed only when Book Original is set to On.

Frame 0-500 Frame can be changed if Frame Erase Type is set to Frame. Valid range is from 0 to 500. Unit is millimeter (mm). 0 if Off and 500 is maximum value. 1 unit equals 0.1 mm.
Erase Top 0-500 Erase Top can be changed if Frame Erase Type is set to Separation. Valid range is from 0 to 500. Unit is millimeter (mm). 0 if Off and 500 is maximum value. 1 unit equals 0.1 mm.
Erase Bottom 0-500 Erase Bottom can be changed if Frame Erase Type is set to Separation. Valid range is from 0 to 500. Unit is millimeter (mm). 0 if Off and 500 is maximum value. 1 unit equals 0.1 mm.
Erase Left 0-500 Erase Left can be changed if Frame Erase Type is set to Separation. Valid range is from 0 to 500. Unit is millimeter (mm). 0 if Off and 500 is maximum value. 1 unit equals 0.1 mm.
Erase Right 0-500 Erase Right can be changed if Frame Erase Type is set to Separation. Valid range is from 0 to 500. Unit is millimeter (mm). 0 if Off and 500 is maximum value. 1 unit equals 0.1 mm.
