CAS transaction performance
The Core Accounting Server (CAS) verifies accounts, calculates transaction charges, and records the collected information in a database. As users submit jobs, the CAS service verifies the users and calculates charges using page counts and job attributes.
The CAS server is designed to handle a large amount of transactional data, and when using the Workstation Client or serverless printing (e.g. Managed queue), a single CAS can support up to 3000 print transactions per minute. Although CAS can handle a high volume of transactions at any given time, the job response time may increase as more jobs are added to the print queue.
This number of print transactions per minute can easily support large organizations without decreasing user print productivity. If your organization's peek printing time is less than 3000 print transactions per minute, then a single CAS solution will work. If you have a higher volume of printing, additional CAS servers can be deployed in a multi-server environment to ensure your printing needs are met.
